Text Formats

Support for plain text, Markdown-related, and simplified HTML conversions.

When converting a dynamic web page, your target text format influences the semantics and content which can be preserved. For example, Markdown supports basic text tables, but, for complex tables, HTML and Markdoc are a better option. Our intermediate "semantic content tree" captures the essential structure and meaning of a document before converting it into one of these supported formats.

  • Markdown - a simple, ubiquitous, and human-focused syntax for formatted documents.
  • Markdoc - a superset of Markdown features, including additional semantic representations.
  • Plain Text - a purely text-focused document with very minimal formatting.
  • Simplified HTML - a subset of tags and pruned DOM for well-preserved semantics.
